Heat treatment temperature adjustment range:

 
  • Quenching: ±15°C
  • Low-temperature tempering: ±20°C
  • High-temperature tempering: ±50°C

The mechanical properties listed in the table apply to steel with a cross-sectional size ≤80 mm:

 
  • For steel with sizes >80 to 100 mm:Elongation after fracture, reduction of area, and impact absorbed energy are permitted to be reduced by 1% (absolute value), 5% (absolute value), and 5%, respectively, compared to the specified values in the table.
  • For sizes >100 to 150 mm:Reductions are 2% (absolute value), 10% (absolute value), and 10%, respectively.
  • For sizes >150 to 250 mm:Reductions are 3% (absolute value), 15% (absolute value), and 15%, respectively.

For boron steel, normalizing can be performed before quenching:

 
  • The normalizing temperature shall not exceed the quenching temperature.
  • For chromium-manganese-titanium steel, normalizing can replace the first quenching.

In tensile testing, if no yield point is observed on the test specimen and the yield point σₛ cannot be determined:

 
  • The specified residual extension stress σᵣ₀.₂ shall be measured instead.

The hardness values in the table are Brinell hardness (HB10/3000) for steel supplied in the annealed or high-temperature tempered state.

 

 

Heat treatment process:

  • Quenching temperature: 880°C, oil cooling
  • Tempering temperature: 540°C, water cooling or oil cooling
